Kevin Diggins
Kevin Diggins recently joined EMC as a Principal Business Consultant, and was selected as a Board Member and Director of Community Outreach for the company’s new Disability Employee Resource Group.
In addition to his business responsibilities driving a key growth strategy within EMC’s software portfolio, Kevin has provided leadership in the company efforts to ensure an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for employees with physical limitations. With a childhood disability severely limiting his mobility, he understands the challenges faced by disabled employees in today’s workplace and has worked with senior executives to launch and implement EMC’s first accessibility initiative.
Targeting cost effective improvements in the recruiting, facilities, training, and event management areas, this program has already had visible success providing enhanced building maps, more welcoming interview invitations, and an Accessibility Guide for the EMC World conference, an annual event attended by 10,000 employees, clients and company vendors. It has also raised awareness within the organization that compliance with applicable laws must be supplemented with strong communications and a user’s perspective in order to deliver the most benefit.
Prior to EMC Kevin established and is still active in Access Insights, a consulting firm providing process and marketing strategies to large public facilities committed to better serving the needs of elderly and disabled patrons. He also has 20+ years of experience as an operations executive and process excellence leader, including Director of Worldwide Business Operations at Stratus Technologies and leadership roles at General Electric in the Corporate Six Sigma, GE Capital, and Aircraft Engines groups.
Kevin holds an M.B.A. from the Olin School of Business at Babson College, a Masters in Computer Science from Boston University, and a Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
